Juliette John is a highly skilled Semi-Permanent Make-up artist
Juliette John is a highly skilled Semi-Permanent Make-up artist specialising in brows, eyeliner, lips and breast areola. Facial features, structure and skin tone each influence the process in different ways so a bespoke treatment is created for each client and no single treatment is ever the same.
Prior to treatment Juliette will discuss in detail the overall look you are trying to achieve and also what she would recommend. This is very much a two-way conversation. She is able to create a natural, flattering look for those clients who desire a very subtle result, whereas others may prefer a more pronounced look. You will be able to discuss this thoroughly at your consultation.
“Listen, respond, advise” is Juliette’s motto. The treatment will not begin until the client is completely satisfied with what the eventual result will be.
BROWS
3D Hairstrokes/Combo
This process gives the best of both worlds and our most popular one. It provides natural, thin hair strokes for a better brow structure and a depth of colour
Throughout – either light to dark – depending on the client’s needs and wants. This is performed with a machine using a range of precise NANO needles and soft hair strokes techniques. This is the most requested procedure as it suits all skin types and age groups. It is ideal for the client that is seeking a well-defined natural brow.
Colour boost/touch-ups are required every 12-24 months depending on skin type.
Powder/Shading/Ombré/Mist
This procedure uses the very latest digital technology, allowing a wide range of effects, from the lightest dust of colour through to a strong depth of colour, mirroring a natural eyebrow. This is perfect for the client seeking a more polished look. Colour depth varies from client to client depending on their needs and wants and is suitable for all skin types.
Colour boosts are required every 12-24 months.
The Process
Using a specialist digital machine, which works at a much lower frequency than a standard tattoo machine, we gently apply pigment to the skin using a very fine needle cartridge. The sensation is similar to that of an electric toothbrush being held against your skin. The process takes about 1-2 hours, but varies from person to person depending on individual requirements. Immediately after a brow treatment, you should expect the area to look 20-30% darker than the colour you have chosen in consultation. This will start to fade after 3-4 days.
EYES
Define and line your eyes with a perfectly shaped eyeliner, designed specifically to suit your eye shape. We begin with a fine, crisp line at the inner corner of the eye, widening gradually toward the outer corner.
Alternatively, make a statement with a high definition dramatic line of maximum thickness.
Please note thicker eyeliner may require more than 2 treatments.
LIPS
Full lip colour treatment
Give your lips maximum definition and lustre with a full lip colour treatment. Fantastic if you no longer want to use lipstick, or if you want to get back your youthful, rosy glow.
A full lip colour is a ideal if you have irregularly shaped, poorly defined or pale lips.
The treatment can be done using one colour, with the pigment artfully shaded through the lip to create a fuller looking lip. Alternatively we can use 2 or 3 shades of pigment, providing you with luscious, full looking lips, with highlights and shadows in just the right places, to maximise lip volume.
Lip contour
This treatment targets the lip contour or vermillion border only, to renew and re define it. It is best done in a very subtle natural colour.
A subtle blush of colour can be added to soften and blend the lip liner into the lip, creating a soft natural looking finish. The lip blush blends the lip liner or contour gently into the body of the lip, but not all the way through the lip. It’s a fabulous look for anyone who wears a soft lip liner with a lip gloss to blend it into the lip.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Semi-Permanent Make-Up
Please do not take any Ibuprofen, Aspirin or alcohol within 72 hours of your appointment if possible, as this will increase the likelihood of you bleeding and result in poor pigment retention.
Please remove any false lashes before attending your eyeliner appointment, or your treatment will not go ahead and your deposit will not be refunded.
Please let Juliette know if you are taking any medications as some may preclude you from having a treatment, or require written consent from your GP.
Aftercare instructions
Please read the instructions thoroughly. Refer to them during your healing process and prior to your touch up appointment. Make sure you follow the instructions carefully to ensure the best possible result for your permanent makeup procedure.
There is no way to determine beforehand exactly how long your colour will remain visible. It depends on your individual skin type, lifestyle, colour choice, medication levels and general health as well as sunbathing and skin routine. The majority of people find that the treatment lasts for 1 to 3 years.
Previous make-up techniques have lasted up to 5 years, but the results were heavily applied make-up. We now find clients want a more natural result and this shortens the life expectancy of the colour. For the best results to keep your make-up looking amazing we recommend a yearly touch-up/colour boost treatment.
Your first visit will take around 1.5-2 hours. A second visit, or annual re-touch, takes approximately 45-60 minutes.
You will need to wait at least 21 days after Botox or filler before having a treatment. Please note that having Botox or filler will alter the shape and symmetry of your treatment. Lip filler also reduces the amount of pigment retention.
You should not apply makeup directly to the treated area for at least 24 hours. Thereafter, minimal makeup can be used if necessary. If you have had your eyeliner done, it is not advisable to use mascara for a week.
In some cases it can be, but not always. It depends on the location of the pigment and the condition of the pigment and skin.
If you are having a lip treatment and you suffer from cold sores you MUST take Zovirax/Aciclovir tablets 5 days before and 5 days after your treatment.
Your eyeliner cannot be done if you have false lashes on. They must be removed prior to treatment. You must then wait 2 weeks before getting your lashes done again.
Your treatment will begin with a thorough consultation, during which we will discuss exactly what you would like from your treatment. Your skin tone and type will then be analysed, and Juliette will mix a colour specifically suited to your skin tone and hair colour. Facial symmetry will then be addressed and a shape will be designed to enhance and compliment your features.
When you are happy with your shape, colour and placement, the treatment will go ahead.
A patch test can be done 12 to 24 hrs before your treatment. However this does not a guarantee that you will not have a reaction to the pigment at any time in the future.
We advise our clients that two sessions are usually required to complete their treatment. Some of the more dramatic treatments such a full lip colour, two colour eye liner or thick eyeliner may need a third and even fourth session. Some skins to do not retain pigment well and in such cases three sessions are needed.
The degree of colour permanency varies with each individual. The shade or tone of the pigment used will alter gradually over several months. It will lighten and alter in hue. No pigments implanted into the skin will remain the same colour indefinitely. You will need to maintain your permanent makeup with regular top ups.
Permanent makeup is not a one-off treatment, it always requires annual maintenance. It is recommended that you return to us for a “top up” procedure at 12 months. This will keep your makeup looking as it should, and prevent any unwanted hues from appearing during the fading process. If you leave your makeup for several years before returning to us, it is likely to need two treatments to “top it up” whereas done annually, it will only require one.
