Warts

conditions 23 warts

A wart is a growth that appears on the body due to the infection of viruses from the HPV family (human papillomavirus).

There are a number of different types of warts: the common wart, pigmented warts, flat warts and plantar warts. Warts can look like solid blisters or small cauliflowers; they can form anywhere on the body but are most common on face, hands, fingers and feet.

Patients with weakened immune systems are more susceptible to warts, and they are often found in children as well as adults. Most warts will disappear on their own over time, however there are cosmetic treatments available for those that require wart removal.
